An Italian conductor whose artistic profile has been shaped through an intense activity in both the operatic and symphonic repertoire.

In 2025, he was awarded Second Prize (First Prize not awarded) at the Antal Doráti International Conducting Competition, a distinction that marked a significant step in his international career. He was also twice selected among the twenty finalists of the prestigious Besançon International Conducting Competition, taking part in the 55th edition (2017) and returning to the finals of the 57th edition (2021). Earlier in his career, he won Second Prize at the London Classical Soloists International Conducting Competition in 2015.

Following his most recent success at the Antal Doráti Competition, Luigi Mazzocchi has received several guest conducting engagements for the 2026/2027 seasons, including debuts with the Orchestre National de Cannes, the MÁV Symphony Orchestra Budapest in collaboration with Jeunesses Musicales Vienna for symphonic concerts at the Vienna Musikverein and in Budapest, the Rostov Symphony Orchestra in Russia, and the Asolo International Music Festival in Italy.

Since 2017, Mazzocchi has been closely associated with the Ópera de Oviedo (Spain), where he has been regularly engaged both as assistant conductor and conductor. His work there includes productions such as Il duca d'Alba, Così fan tutte, Il turco in Italia and Lucia di Lammermoor, collaborating with leading singers including José Bros, Jessica Pratt, Carmela Remigio, Alessandro Corbelli, Sabina Puértolas, Sara Blanch and Simon Orfila among others.

He has developed his artistic experience alongside distinguished conductors, assisting on numerous occasions Umberto Benedetti Michelangeli, Corrado Rovaris, Iván López-Reynoso and Giacomo Sagripanti, with whom he maintains an ongoing artistic collaboration.

Recent highlights include his debut at the Teatro Regio di Parma during the renowned Festival Verdi with excerpts from Verdi's Ernani, a new production of Lucia di Lammermoor at the Ópera de Oviedo, and several symphonic programs with the Fondazione Arturo Toscanini Philharmonic (O.R.E.R.) in Italy.

In 2023, he was selected by M° Daniele Gatti to attend the distinguished Conducting Course at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, which resulted in a series of symphonic concerts with the Academy's resident orchestra.

Over the years, Luigi Mazzocchi has conducted orchestras such as the Orchestra and Choir of the Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo, Symphonia Italiana, the Symfonisch Orkest van De Vlaamse Opera (Belgium), the Orchestre Victor Hugo Franche-Comté (France), Classica Viva of Milan, the London Classical Soloists, the Orchestra of the International Piano Festival of Brescia and Bergamo, Oviedo Filarmonía, the Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias, and the Senza Spine Symphony Orchestra.

A graduate with highest honors in Violin, Composition, Orchestral Conducting and Choral Conducting from the Conservatories of Brescia and Parma, he furthered his studies at the Accademia Musicale Pescarese, the Italian Conducting Academy in Milan, and the Accademia Musicale Chigiana, where he studied under the guidance of Michel Tabachnik and Daniele Gatti.
